Hunter Knight Recognized at RTD and Richmond Sports Backers Banquet
Maggie Walker Swimmer Takes Home Scholar Athlete Runner-up Award 


June 15, 2010 The Richmond Times Dispatch and Metropolitan Richmond Sports Backers held their annual Scholar Athlete reception  and dinner on Monday evening June 7, 2010 at the Jefferson Hotel main ballroom. Twenty student athletes (10 boys and 10 girls)  were chosen as finalists. Maggie Walker’s Hunter Knight was awarded runner-up and received a $4,500 scholarship.

The Sports Backers listed his accomplishments as follows:

• Central Region Male Swimmer of the year
• Chosen to the NCSA (National Club Swimming Association) All-Star Team
• NISCA All-American Times in 100 Breast and 200 IM
• National Honor Society and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American
• Coordinated food drives for the Central Virginia Food Bank
• Virginia Special Olympics swim coach

Congratulation to Hunter for his accomplishments in the classroom and in the pool.
