Nine Dragons Earn All District Honors
Boys Soccer Team Recognized for On Field Success
May 21, 2010 In recognition of the on field success shared by the boys soccer team, five dragons were named to the All Colonial District first and second teams, while 4 others earned honorable mention. Kyle Herman and Andrew Sullivan garnered first team honors while Ese Shaw, David Wagner, and Dan Laws were named to the second team. Also receiving honorable mention were Ryan Taaffe, Beau Banks, Matthew Gill, and Sam Meredith.
First year coach Ryan Molloy congratulated the players and added "post season awards are an indication of the team’s success, as much as the
individual success. Without the team’s success, individual awards do not come." Under Coach Molloy's leadership, the team that finis
hed the season last year with only 2 wins, finished this season at 11-3-2, and were just edged out for the District Regular season title by traditional soccer powerhouses Deep Run and Mills Goodwin.
The boys will begin their run at the District and Regional titles on Monday when they play Thomas Jefferson at Hermitage High School's field. The two teams are set to kick it off at 5:30, and all are encouraged to attend and support the team.
